New for November 2013 is . . . o Passengers: o South Australia o barque, West Australian, from London to Port Adelaide March 12th 1874 o ship Hesperus, from London via Plymouth to Port Adelaide May 10th 1874 o o Quebec Steamboats o John Molson - 9th trip up, Quebec to Montreal, 22nd June 1831 o St. Lawrence - 11th trip up, Quebec to Montreal, 24th June 1831 Two more assisted emigrants to South Australia for 1874. Like last month, these two were also a bit of a challenge because of limited info for former residence, but it was fun being able to learn more about them from various contemporary sources. Input from descendants is always welcome. My favourite steamboat passenger list this month is the 11th trip up for the ST. LAWRENCE ... but not as good as some lists, but the John Molson 26 June (the next list I'll transcribe) looks pretty promising. o Ship Arrivals: o Ships to Quebec 1831 (second page finished up to August) I'm glad to be adding more newspaper accounts, as this 2nd page includes the arrivals of some of the Chelsea Pensioners to Upper Canada, 1830-1839 (two pages), aboard the Hebe, from London, the Mint from London, and the Kingston, from Waterford. Please share this *new* for TheShipsList website email, with any other list to which you belong if you think it might be of interest or value to those list members (in other words, on-topic). Hello listers, I am trying to find information about Mary Stuart Counsel born in Tasmania on 25 August 1886. I have a photograph by Anson Bros, Hobart of a child where the back of the photo was inscribed "Mary Stuart Counsel aged 14 months, October 1887". The photograph was sent to Charles Cameron Kingston (soon to be Premier of South Australia) who attended a meeting of the Federal Council in Hobart in early 1886 regarding federation. Ancestry.com shows the parents as Edward Albert Counsel, Surveyor and his wife, Mary Stuart Simpson. Mary was the fourth child. I am interest to discover further information about the child Mary Stuart Counsel, including marriage, children and death. Thanks, Richard McCarthy Sent from my iPad

Hi Emm, I does depend on what info was in the records. SAGHS/GenSA have these records on cards by name of person [well they did last time I was there, they could be digitised now]. Some records have quite a lot of information and others not so much. Will depend on the persons. Others may be able to add to this.
