Hello List and Stephen in Georgia.. more on the LOGAN and ALEXANDER thread: Stephen has told me off list that James LOGAN and Marion ALEXANDER had two more children besides those mentioned already: Robert and Bruce. I cold not find the births of Robert and Bruce on Digger Queensland Pioneer Index 1829-1889 and I've explained to him, that because of the early dates and Queensland being separated from New South Wales there could be some overlap with New South Wales records. I'll let him know off list how to access the NSW BDM site online, but this is what I've come up with myself. There is an overlap in New South Wales (NSW) BDM for the births of John LOGAN, James A. LOGAN and Mary LOGAN. The District is not recorded. John LOGAN Ref: V18453195 30A/1845. (NSW) Father: James Mother: Marion James A. LOGAN Ref: V18493539 37A/1849 (NSW) Father: James Mother: Marion A. Mary LOGAN Ref: V18542769 40/1854 (NSW) Father: James Mother: Marion There are also, births for the following, again district not recorded: Mary LOGAN Father: James Mother: Marian (sic) Ref: V18513483 38A/1851 (NSW) Sarah S. LOGAN Father: James Mother: Marion A. Ref: V18561028 142A/1856 (NSW) Still in New South Wales, there is the birth of Robert LOGAN Father: James Mother: Marion Registered at Maitland. Ref: 8478/1858. I could find no birth for Bruce LOGAN on NSW records However there is a DEATH for Bruce LOGAN in New South Wales Father: James Mother: Marian (sic) Registered at St. Leonards Reg: 13066/1917 Back to Queensland records (1829-1889) There is the birth of Bruce LOGAN 1 June 1868 Ref: 1868/003026 Father: James Mother: Marion Thompson (the CD does not distinguish, for deaths and births between second given names and surnames). There is no record of a marriage between James LOGAN and Marion THOMPSON. There is a birth for Robert LOGAN in Queensland, 10 Feb 1868 (Ref: 1868/001147) but the Mother is Margaret Laird so I'd say this is way off track. There are 2 Robert LOGAN marriages in Queensland (1829-1889) Emma CARTER 23 Aug 1881 (1881/001257) Robert Joseph Logan married Ann Eliza EWING 23 May 1882 (1882/001073). William LOGAN died 23 August 1865 1865/000847 Parents not listed. With James Alexander and William LOGAN being names already on your list, and with their having a brother John, the following may be helpful: William Wallace LOGAN born 16 Nov 1877 Reg: 1878/0001030 Father: John Mother: Emily Hart Eva Florence LOGAN born 23 June 1880 Reg: 1880/005791 Father: John Mother: Emily Caroline Hartt (sic) James Alexander Malcolm LOGAN born 10 January 1886 Ref: 1885/007246 Father: John Mother: Emily Caroline Hartt (sic) I think you already have the death of Mary LOGAN Father; James Logan Mother: Marion Alexander died 19 July 1870 Qld Ref: 1870/001168. Di R. in BRISBANE.
