My wife's ancestors were Hoffmann. In tracing the family I developed an interest in this family name because it appears so often especially in religions. As a result I did some work and discovered that I now have some 19 Hoffmann familles that came to Australia in the 19th century. It appears that none are related and they all came from different areas. In my wife's family there were 8 brothers and 1 sister but there only seems to be a chain kept of one brother. However I do have snippets on the others. Am interested to hear from others with this family name to see how the picture might pan out. I have a number of email addresses and have this day sent an email to each of them to see if they are still in contact. I also have some snail mail addresses and may write to them later. I have developed quite a history of Hoffmann that am happy to share around for what it is worth. Albert Grulke in hot sunny Melbourne in 2004 the year of the Hawks I hope.
