    1. [AQ-TOOWOOMBA] Burial Regulations - circa 1902 1903

    3. Does anyone know if there were any general regulations, for public cemeteries, regarding a time limit for when a grave could be opened up for a new burial? I have a burial 30th Sept 1902 - child aged 7 and then on 8th July 1903 - less than a year later, the burial of her sister, also a child. For the 1903 burial, the Sexton's records have a name, age of child, religion, burial number but have not recorded Section, Sub-Section, Line number or Plot No. These are either left blank or say "not on file". Later burial of the family, however, some 20 years and more down the track, are all buried in the same plot (it was an 8 x 4) plot, as the 1902 burial. Would it be likely that the child buried 1903 was in fact buried with her sister who died 1902, but the records were "fudged" because "legally" it was too soon to have another burial?? Thanks for any suggestions. Di Randell BRISBANE.
