Hello all, Searching for any information regarding a Mrs Mary KELLY (nee McLAUGHLIN) who was living in Long St, Toowoomba in 1918. Chris I'll check this out in Postal directory of the period if we have one at TDDFHS. I am more than certain that it would be quite a different road to the Boundary road of today. We are in the process (VERY early stage) of indexing name changes, with reference, of any Toowoomba Streets and would be grateful for any references which could be provided by members of this list. Howdy all Would anyone know if the Boundary Street, Toowoomba, was the same street in 1875 as it is toady. It must have been quite a way out of the town and I am surprised to find it called a street way back then. Maybe a Road I would understand. I have a child's death recorded there, yet all the other records I have were from James Street. Chris Townsville

Hi list members, Qld Assoc of Local and Family History Fair is on again this Sunday 9 am at the Mt Gravatt showgrounds. Tickets on the day are $8.80. Brisbane people may have left it too late to buy a pre-paid ticket at the discount price of $5.50, because the secretary will be at the show grounds today getting ready. There are still three tickets available from the Toowoomba & DD Family History rooms, 61 Drayton Rd Toowoomba, at the pre-paid discount price of $5.50. If you want to purchase a ticket at this price I suggest you be there promptly at 1 pm today, Saturday. You can also book the bus there. There is a bus going to the fair, cost is a bargain $20 which includes ticket. The bus leaves the interchange at 8 am. Regarding the Darling Downs area for the Pioneer Register - please email me for qualification. Generally speaking from the range south to the border and west past Dalby. It is hard to set boundaries because families often married, bought land, died etc nearer Toowoomba / Warwick, but lived most of their lives further away. Cheers Marionne
