Hi Lorraine Thank you for your reply re the Harte family. My problem is a bit complicated but what I am trying to do is locate someone who is already researching the Henry Harte who married Annie Mary Fox and can tell me if he was married previously. What happened is my grandmother's sister is supposed to have married a man by the name of Henry Harte about 1885 but I cannot find any evidence of this marriage having taken place. Then this Henry Harte disappeared. They had a daughter whose birth was registered in her mother's maiden name. Some people have suggested that this Henry Harte did not actually exist but, when the daughter eventually married, she said her surname was Harte and her father was Henry Harte. So if I can find someone who is descended from the Henry Harte who married Annie Mary Fox, I may be able to find out if he is the same Henry Harte who married my grandmother's sister.
