    3. Hello Jenny, Re: HILTON family - Texas / Silver Spur, Qld. Thank you for your posting from across the ditch! I have only recently taken on the Admin role for this Rootsweb list and am trying to generate some added interest. In the meantime I trust your posting will bring some responses that will assist. Do you have access to Ancestry? If not, please let me know and I would be pleased to do some searching for you. The Goondiwindi & District Family History Society 42 Winton St., Goondiwindi Queensland 4390. Tel. (07) 4671 4275 may also be a source of information. However I cannot find an email address for them. Perhaps someone on the list has a contact at the Society they could pass on to you. Please keep us up to date with your progress. Jennifer Dr. Jennifer Lambert Tracey BA (ANU); M APP. SC. 1. [AUS-QLD-TEXAS] Texas - Inglewood Railway
    2. Lisa via
    3. Dear List Members I recently purchased a CD, "Journey Between Two Stations: A pictorial view from Texas Railway Station to Inglewood Railway Station a distance of 54km.", complied by the Texas & Inglewood Heritage Railway Society and available from the Texas Newsagency (Ph. 07 4653 1384) for $20. Not being a rail/train enthusiast, the photos of the now derelict line aren't of particular interest, in themselves, to me, but may be to someone else on this list. (I purchased the CD because it represents another aspect of the history of the area and in appreciation for the Texas & Inglewood Heritage Railway Society volunteers and their efforts to preserve and record this.) Structural items such as bridges, drains, signals, dingo traps, distance markers and what remains of sidings are photographed, as is evidence of flood damage, tree growth through the line, etc. and a voice-over accompanies some of the images. A photocopied 'mud map' accompanies the CD which shows the line passing through (from Texas) Mundoey, Magee, Brush Creek, Catfish Creek and into Inglewood. This is marked with a series of numerical notations, particularly in the section from Mundoey to Magee e.g. 100, 119, 136, 149, 158, 176, 189 and so on. These correspond with photo/video locations from the CD. (Volunteers from the group literally 'walked the line' in order to compile this resource.) The Texas & Inglewood Heritage Railway Society is in the process of erecting a display centre, restoring a section of line, has secured a replica c. 1930 rail motor (RM14), a working trolley, etc. and will be open to visitors in the near future.
