Try the White Pages at <http://www.whitepages.com.au/wp/search.jhtml>, or look in current Commonwealth electoral rolls, which are described in an article on <http://www.judywebster.gil.com.au/tips-qld.html>. Still trying to find Mervyn Royle: At 17/12/2002, Judy Webster wrote: >Try the White Pages at ><http://www.whitepages.com.au/wp/search.jhtml>, or look in current >Commonwealth electoral rolls, which are described in an article on ><http://www.judywebster.gil.com.au/tips-qld.html>. Thanks for Judy's suggestions. I had tried the White pages link without luck before posting my initial message to our Mailing List.... it is surprising how some people overlook the obvious. At the moment I am trying the old-fashioned approach and am ringing around. "Perry's Past: A Centenary History of Perry Shire" is a surprising treasure-trove.... it looks as if much of it arose from Mervyn Royle's academic thesis... thus is well sourced. I want to contact him to see if he has much unpublished data and also to seek permission to quote extracts... better to be safe in these matters. In response to an offlist query: I bought my copy of Mervyn Royle's book "Perry's Past: A Centenary History of Perry Shire" (cost $12.50) directly from the Perry Shire Council on 18 May 2001 when I was touring Qld. and visiting Mt Perry. I asked just on the off-chance they might have unsold copies. You might be lucky too.... Their address is: Perry Shire Council PO Box 12 Mt Perry, Qld 4671 Phone# (07) 4156 3214 Are other people interested in Mt Perry? My family is WEDEMEYER which owned a pub at Drummers Creek near Mt Perry from 1872- 1884. -----------------
