Lorrae I've had heaps of emails sent to me today with part of the message snipped off. They too have come from Rootsweb lists I don't subscribe to - TAS, AYR, CD Books, GF etc. They arrive in my Inbox with the list name prefix at the beginning of the subject line. Is it an error with Rootsweb, as I've seen mention of an inundation on other lists, or is it that a virus has taken the subject header and added itself to it? The messages I got didn't have attachments, but that could be because I have Zone Alarm installed, as well as McAfee. Hi all Have the centre panel - between the list of messages and the reading material - showing. I don't know what it's called. The smartie attaches without the 'paper clip' showing at the side of the message, but you will see it in that centre panel. It is still 50.8kb, and Sue is right - most of the messages are snipped. It is not only using rootsweb - this is coming under friends' messages! Boy I've been hit hard today!! Judy It is said that it can not come from Rootsweb itself due to the restrictions on attachments. The visus does have an executable attachment. A list member was infected, and the virus then sent emails to people in that address book, including people from other lists, looking like they came from the infected member. From there, it is activitated by people without anti-virus software, and sent again and so on causing your inbox to be filled with junk....
