Perhaps I can clear up some of the problems with the name NITZ. The Auggie NITZ mentioned by Coral in her e-mail would almost certainly be August Charles NITZ, the son of Albert Paul NITZ and Luise Wilhelmine Johanne GROSSKOPF. Albert Paul NITZ was the son of Christian Friedrich Michael NITZ and Johanne RENNER. Christian Friedrich Michael NITZ was the son of Dorothea Sophia NITZ and (most likely) Christian STRASBURG. The Leo NITZ mentioned by Dunroamin (jennyl) would most likely be Leo Paul NITZ born 14/10/1951 whose wife is Christine (Moran). Leo Paul NITZ is the son of Leo Clarence NITZ and Ethel Elizabeth SORENSEN. Leo Clarence NITZ is the son of Albert Paul NITZ and Luise Wilhelmine Johanne GROSSKOPF. See above for Albert Paul's parents etc. I believe the family lived in the Milman (I believe pronounced Milmerran) area and I think one or more of them are buried at the Milman cemetery. If this is in the same area as Barmoya and Wycarbah then that would be the same family. If not please don't tell me there is another NITZ family in the Rockhampton area. I have had enough trouble sorting this one out. They are connected to my family through Dorothea Sophia NITZ who was my Great Grandfather's Aunt. I would be interested in communicating with anybody who has any information about the family either present or past and also if there is anything in the 'Back to Barmoya' book.
