    1. [Qld -SE-German] La Rochelle
    2. Malcolm & Hazel FORD
    3. My family came to Toowoomba aboard the La Rochelle, via Simons Town and Dunwich Quarantine, but had two deaths on the voyage. This family is detailed as leaving from CASELOW, in the Prenzlau area. They were my gg grandparents William and Justine SCHOENWALDT, their married daughter Friederike & Johann HOEPPER, with their children Frederick 4 and Friederike 2, a daughter Marie, engaged to Ferdinand MULLER (also on board) and three sons, August, Frederick Wilhelm and Ferdinand. Two year old Friederike died at sea a month after sailing and Justine died while the ship spent the month at Simon's Town. Her death Cert. does not say where she was buried. I have this family from when they left quarantine Feb 1866 and then in Toowoomba, so if anyone finds anything written about them and their trip up the range etc I would be grateful. Hazel FORD PS Marie and Ferdinand MULLER went on to have 15 children and married into many Toowoomba families...GRAU,WEIDEMANN,EASTGATE,ENGLART,KEMPTHORNE,BELLAMY,WEIS,MARLOW, ROBERTS, WALBOURN,CARSELDINE,DALY and GRANT.
