    3. Chris, Don't know if anyone has responded to your query 'off-list'... When I applied to the Historic Emigration Office, Hamburg (1987), I received a parchment-type certificate (slightly larger than foolscap size), which was actually a photographic copy of the section of the passenger list for the vessel/voyage relating to my family of interest; complete with official, red seal, etc., as well as a photocopy of the Passenger List in full and several colour booklets/pamphlets re. the Historic Emigration Office's role and the history of Hamburg as an 'Emigration City'. Couple of points I can remember being unhappy about at the time - firstly, the certificate was folded in half for postage and, secondly, my family unit was marked with a red 'blob', obviously made by a large, felt marker! As this was some 15 years ago, 'what you get for your money', along with the fee charged, no doubt, may have changed, Chris.
