Hi out there I haven't checked the mail yet this morning, but I have a few concerns about my offer to help the Danes! Søgn = Parish Herred = District Amt = County The majority of my material is for Vends Herred in Odense Amt, which is on the western side of the Isle of Fyn/Fyen/Fuen. Unless you have the District at least, I don't have a hope of helping. Even in Vends, I have only 10 of the 13 Parishes (søgnen). Each one is huge! Also you must understand that the patronymic system was used until the mid 1800s, so if you are looking for HANSEN it is simply that his father was HANS something or other. The female offspring could be HANSEN, HANSDATTER or sometimes the records show HANSDTR. In other words, we need more information such as the name of the spouse at least, and preferably the names of the children. I can imagine your frustration - thought it would be easy eh? Sorry, but I will still try to help. Cheers Bev K
