    3. Hi Liz and all This is an email that I received in response to a query about the requirements of an ISBN for my Family Tree Book. However, in the meanwhile, I have applied for the ISBN and paid my money. Should be here within 2 working days of applying. For a book such as yours I would suggest that it would not be necessary as it would only have a small print run and by primarily distributed to family and friends. I feel that you would not reap the full benifit of an ISBN. Having said that you can certainly obtain an ISBN is you wish. I have attached an ISBN Application for your information, it may help you decide. I have been advised that Family Tree Books are not compulsory to have ISBN? Most printers I have spoken to have advised not to worry about it for Family Tree Books, however, my current printer suggested that I should think about it!
