This is so exciting, I just have to tell someone that I have had a real stroke of luck. I took some advice and looked in the german telephone directory on the net for winkler as my great aunt has a letter sent to her mother by a relative with the surname winkler and in that letter was the names of his kids. I wrote a letter to two people in the area that the last letter came from and sent it monday. I opened my email last night and found a letter from the son of whom I am tracking down. He said the last letter that he can remember that came from Australia was in 1957, 45 years is a long time between letters. All I can say is never give up and never let an opportunity go by.
