Hello all, I was looking at a microfiche today and found some of my people on the fiche. I was surprised to see that they were married in the Methodist Church. They were staunch Lutherans, but then I discovered that the Methodist Church was the only church building around and that all religions used it for weddings, christenings and burials but their own particular ministers officiated in the ceremonies. Guess that really underlines the phrase "community church" by the use of the building by all those in the community. I wonder how they managed on Sunday if each religion used the building for church service? Have other people run across this 'multi use' of existing church buildings by people other than the resident congregation? just wondering, Beverly.
