I was not too interested in the Australian side as it is not a direct line of mine. My main interest is to find out where my grandfather and his sister went when they arrived in Australia in 1883. My grandfather is listed on the passenger list but then disappears until he marries my grandmother in Tarampa. The only conclusion that I can come up with is that the stayed with the August Bliesner and his family. My grand aunt married Gus Kerle about 18 months after they arrived. This is what is have. I also have photos of all the villages mention and the churches, having visited the area in Poland twice. She was born 26 February 1815 and died 09 November 1881 in Gross Teschendorf West Prussia. ( I made a mistake in my first email. My g.g.grandmother was Maria Elisabeth Brause). Johann Bliesner's baptism was registered in the Schonwiese Catholic records on 07 June 1810. Johann Bliesner b. 23 December 1841 (Gross Teschendorf West Prussia) d. 13 September 1842 (Gross Teschendorf West Prussia) Carl August Bliesner b. 27 July 1843 (Gross Teschendorf West Prussia) d. 05 April 1922. buried Plainland Luthern Church Queensland. Anna Bliesner b. 06 June 1839. Married Peter Beck. Child of Anna Bliesner. Wilhelmine Bliesner b. 26 May 1864 (Gross Teschendorf West Prussia) She and Anna arrived in Australia on the Roma on 29 June 1882. Wilhelmine Bliesner was baptised on 05 June 1864. (A witness to that baptism was Frau Kaminski who was my great grandmother). Wilhelmine Bliesner married Carl August Weigel 23 April 1888. Carl August Bliesner married Louise Ostoike on 11 November 1871 in the Catholic Church Schonwiese West Prussia. She was the daughter of August Ostoike and Christine Wrobel. She was born on 09 October 1850 in Rothwasser, West Prussia. A witness to the marriage was Johann Josefski (my great grandfather). Children of Carl August Bliesner and Louise Ostoike are. Karl August Bliesner b. 24 April 1881, Marburg, Queensland. Louise Bliesner b. 19 August 1872. m Hermann Albrecht. Adolph bliesner b. 22 March 1873 m Anna Loose. Lina Bliesner b. 10 January 1874 m. Emil Pagel. Wilhelmine Bliesner b. 24 September 1876 m. Carl Loose. Gustav Bliesner b. 30 August 1887 m. May Rossow. Albert bliesner b. 05 Octo9ber 1888 m. Bella Woods. Hi Jennifer, A while since I have heard from you. I have just checked what I had in my email last night (it is a while since I have done any research) and have found that I had a few errors. I had the two Bliesner families mixed up. I rechecked the BDMs and have found that there is no Louise Bliesner on the one that I have. I did do a fair bit with Les Moreland because he was interested in the family as well so am not sure if the info came from him or not. Will check up and see what I can find among all my stuff. For Louise Ostoike the infomation came from the LDS records. Marriage from Catholic records for Schonwiese (Film no 1334789) Births and Marriages 1712-1899. Checking this morning I have found that she had a sister Caroline who was married in Christburg and her records again LDS Christburg Evangelical (Film 208046) BDM 1862-1874. Regards, John.
