I think 'Bestand' means 'continuing', rather than 'compromising' .... Looking at some examples of the types of entries to be found in this book (from the web address supplied earlier), the entry you've quoted should end with something that looks like this: Brg. Anz. 1868/71. A. (This indicates that the person/family announced their intention to leave for America in 1868. Yours should say 'Au.' for Australia.)
