    3. I apologise for being persistent about this issue but I really have a problem and from where I am it is proving very difficult to resolve it and resolve it I must if I am to achieve my goal. Let me explain my problem. All of my life I was told that there was only one family of Volker ever came to Toowoomba from Germany. I was told always that one of the family was some sort of renegade and changed his named from Volker to Folker. >From the material that I have before me I doubt if I was alone in this belief. I have been gathering Volker material for some fifteen years and about six months ago I was prompted to sort it out and produce my planned book. I quickly learned that in fact there were at least three families and a number of individual Volker who migrated from Germany to Queensland between 1862 and 1867. I have toiled away at this for months and now have about three family trees and a number of people that I cannot tie into any tree. I believe that what I have is 99% correct. The problem is to establish just how they came out. I have: 1. Families that allegedly came out on two different ships. For example on family is supposed to have come out on the Gutefrau and on the Caeser Godeffroy. 2. Some came out in 1863, 64, and 65. 3. Some came out on ships that simply do not exist to my knowledge. Is the Gutefrau a ship? 4. Some cannot be found on manifests of the ships they allegedly came on. I think the point is that I need to find these poeple on manifests somewhere. The one giving me most headaches at the moment is a ship called the "Johann Caeser". It is alleged to have made 6 visits to Moreton Bay. I have three people who allegedly came out on it in 1864. They came from three different parts of Germany and their ages suggest they are not related. Problem is I cannot find any records of the Johann Caeser coming to Moreton Bay. I have recently purchased a book on 1864 ships and it is not in there. I have searched the web and it does no come up. I can not search it further through local channels down here. I even wonder if the ship name is correct and if it should not be the Johann Godfrey. I also wonder if it left Hamburg. Any leads will be welcome Thanks Albert Grulke in cold old Melbourne
