    3. G'day Alan, Thanks very much for that. One little piece of information there might explain an old family story, that the ship was fogbound in the Bay, and could not disembark. Their youngest daughter Catherine (infant, 9 months) died on the ship, again family story this held the ship up, and she was buried on Fraser Island, but, there is no other evidence that that burial actually happened. Thanks very much All the Best Phillip -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Alan and Shirley Nitz Sent: Thursday, 15 November 2007 7:45 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [SEQ-Germans] one hundred years Phillip I cannot see any reference to the HEIDEMANN family in the book. There are two short references to the Herschel. 1. As the coastal districts to the north of Brisbane were now becoming more populous, four of the eleven immigrant ships arriving between 1870 and 1878 - the Reichstag, Shakespear(e), Herschel, and Humboldt - disembarked the bulk of their human cargo (mostly 'free passengers') at Hervey('s) Bay, where steamers took them up the Mary River to the Maryborough Immigration Barracks. 2.The second reference was in relation to an article in the Maryborough Chronicle covering the arrival of the Herschel in March 1872. Sorry I can't help more at this stage. Regards Alan. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Phil Murphy Sent: Wednesday, 14 November 2007 6:32 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [SEQ-Germans] one hundred years Hi Alan, I'd like to ask also, if you could look up for me - Hans Jurgen and Nicoline (nee JENSEN) HEIDEMANN (and children) to MARYBOROUGH on the HERSHEL, 1876 Thanks All the Best Phillip Phillip MURPHY -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of june m robinson Sent: Wednesday, 14 November 2007 5:31 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [SEQ-Germans] one hundred years Hi Alan, Saw your email hope you don't mind me asking for a look up.
