He was the son of Gustav Theodore Brietschke Gustav Theodore Brietschke was born on 15th February 1828 at Wollin, Prussia to Georg Britschke and Katherine Schalk (Wollin was a small village not far from the present day city of Lebork which is almost on the Baltic Sea) His family owned a brick works ) Gustav narried Maria Richter about 1852 and they had nine children 1. Herman mentioned above 1853? 2. Rudolph 1856 ? 3. Maria 1860 4. Otto Herman 23 Feb 1862 5. Augusta Emily 1864 6. Gustav Theodore 1866 (Changed his name to George Edward) Three children died as infants and are buried in Germany, Maria died having her ninth child and is also buried in Germany. I have no other information on her. Gustav then remarried and I do have further information should you believe you do have a connection to this branch of the Brietschke.family.
