Hi Nell, Possibly if you contact the Lutheran Archives in Adelaide, they may have copies of the Parish Records. Their contact details are: The Lutheran Archives 27 Fourth Street, Bowden SA 5007 Telephone: (08) 8340 4009 Email: [email protected] In the book One Hundred Years of the Lutheran Church in Queensland by F O Theile, in Chapter IV page 21 T Langebecker is mentioned on the 9-6-1885 as Toowoomba Parish and there is a photo of him on the next page. Hope this helps Noel & Del Date sent: Thu, 13 Mar 2008 13:53:27 +1000 From: "Schemioneck, Nell" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Subject: [SEQ-Germans] Church records Send reply to: [email protected] [ Double-click this line for list subscription options ] Carl Schemioneck died in December 1895. The details on his death certificate are incorrect, listing his father as Thomas Dobbins (who was actually the father of the woman who lived on the next farm who was also recently deceased. Her husband was the informant of both deaths). I am wondering if there would be any church records which might list Carl's parents. According to the death certificate he died at Southbrook, Darling Downs and was buried in Toowoomba Cemetery on 2 December 1895 by Rev FF Langebecker (Lutheran). I am not sure how I go about finding out which parish Rev Langebecker officiated in and whether there are any records. Thanks for any help.
