My great-grandfather, William Patterson arrived from County Down, Northern Ireland with his wife Margaret Emerson on the David McIver at Hervey Bay 9 July 1863. They left two sons, William James and George behind when they sailed to Queensland and it is known that these two boys arrived later. However I do not know the name of the ship on which they arrived in Queensland. William James married Elizabeth O'Mara of Maryborough and George married Elizabeth Angus of Bundaberg. William and Margaret went on to have Thomas (my grandfather) dob 1865 at Iderway, Gayndah. Thomas consequently married Anna Catherine Heiner (mother Amalia Weimer (Whymer?) then followed Robert born Mt Perry with wife unknown. Another son, John followed with most details unknown. Finally a daughter born at Mt Perry to William and Margaret named Margaret who married a James Duffin. It is believed there was another child (details of which are unknown.) As mentioned I am very interested in your book and wondered if the family of Pattersons (although we now spell it Patteson) and Weimer (Whymer?) are among those you have researched etc! Thank you with much interest, Glenva
