Hi There will be two Kapernick family reunions in September. One will be held at Gatton Lutheran Church Hall, 85 Spencer St, Gatton on Saturday 18 September 2010 starting at 10 AM finishing around 5 PM. This venue still has to be confirmed- I have emailed the church but they have not got back to me and I am just about to do it again. If Gatton Church falls it will still be in Gatton- another hall, a park a farm whatever! The second will be at Murgon Lutheran Church Hall, 19 Thorn St, Murgon on Sat 25 September 2010. This will also be starting at 10 AM and finishing at 5 PM It was decided to have two reunions to make it easier for the large number of relatives in these districts. The format for both will be similar. There will be a bar-b-q lunch. The idea is that the reunion will be a fundraiser helping to defray the cost of the family history that will be released in March 2011. I am trying to keep the cost of the book down to $30, to make it easier for those who may wish to buy multiple copies for children etc. The cost will be $10 for an adult, $15 for a couple and $20 for a family of four- 2 adults and 2 children. Each additional child under 16 will $3.00, wheras teenagers over 16 are full adult price. Drinks will be available for sale- soft drinks $1.00, and tea and coffee $0.50c. Murgon Lutheran Church hires its hall at donation- there is no actual charge but you make a donation. What I suggest is that there will be a donation box there and if each Kapernick descendant or family contributes a gold coin to it that will cover the donation for the use of the hall. I presume Gatton will be a similar arrangement but if not that is ok. This is designed to be a pre-book launch get together. The book launch will be March 2011 date still to be set but this will be a whole weekend of fun and entertainment by our own! Come along toeither Gatton or Murgon and have some fun, enjoying meeting relatives you have not met! All family, friends and spouses welcome!
