    3. Albert The Arndts and Volkers came on the 1861-62 voyage of the Caesar Godeffroy. I am in the process of acquiring a book about this voyage (They Came Direct: Immigration Vessels to Queensland: Caesar Godeffroy 1862) - if it is still available. The Drew(e)s came on the 1862-63 voyage almost exactly a year later. I have a copy of the advertisement placed by Heussler and Francksen in The Courier newspaper on 23 February 1863 that lists the passengers on the voyage of the Caesar Godeffroy that departed Hamburg on 1 Dec 1862. I have not seen such an advertisement for other voyages. Included in the list are the Drews family and the Berghofer family that were the ancestors of well known Toowoomba resident Clive Berghofer. Apparently the Qld immigration records for these two voyages were among the 1860's records lost in the 1893 floods which is a nuisance. John Heinemann

    3. John, Are you aware of the CD "Emigrants from Hamburg to Australasia 1850-1879"? It contains the German passenger lists for the 1861 and 1862 Cesar Godeffroy voyages.
