Hello List I've just an archived post by Albert Grulke from 2000 re the Early German Settlements. Albert, the F. Zumbasen is actually my Great Grandfather Fritz Zumbansen and they settled in the Mundowran area. Could I please ask where I could the information you mentioned? Would you have any other information at all? Thank you Donna Spencer Mundowran (where is it?) This seems to be the name of a farming district very near Mundubberra and may in fact be where the German migrants actually settled. Mundubbera In 1907-10 Pastor Niemeyer of the Apostolic Church at Plainlands organized the migration of a number of German to come to Queensland. For some reason instead of settling at Plainlands they settled at Munduberra. It seems that although he was responsible for their migration he did not provide for them pastoral support and in 1912 the Lutheran pastor from Maryborough went to the area and from there formed a Lutheran congregation. F Zumbasen is the only name mentioned in this area.
I don't know if you already have this, but this is the location you are looking for, http://www.ga.gov.au/bin/gazd01?rec=160953 >From that you may be able to identify where to find records, such as Family History Society. http://www.satcom.net.au/mdfhs/ Gay ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donna Spencer" <donnas@itxperts.com.au> To: <AUS-QLD-SE-Germans-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, February 05, 2011 2:26 PM Subject: [SEQ-Germans] Fritz Zumbansen > Hello List > > > > I've just an archived post by Albert Grulke from 2000 re the Early German > Settlements. > > > > Albert, the F.
