Hi Charmaine Thanks for pointing that out. The first names are right but the surname is wrong. I am wondering whether she was married twice and one of either MAAS or SANNEMANN is her married name to her first husband. I think the two Gustav's definitely have the same parents and the one buried as August Frederick Gustav is the same as Gustav Frederick August that Anna WINDOLF, which I do have incorrectly I believe as Wendorf. He was probably called August to distinguish him from his brother. The one death record saying WASS for mother- well I think that is MAAS. Misreading of a handwritten certificate possibly- there are spelling errors on the Online Indexes. I might not be correct but I have been unable to find any other Wilhelm Johann that fits except the Wilhelm Johan that is the son of Christian Friedrich BEUTEL and Marie EHRENBERG. Also, that is how it appears in "Blueprint of a BEUTEL" written by Pam BEUTEL...she follows what I have (rather I followed what she had). The other thing to remember is that incorrect parent information is found on death certificates. My father died when I was 21, and he was born in Germany. Our paternal grandparents were deceased before my sister and I were born, and my father was not close to his family. In fact, he was estranged. I remember him occasionally mentioning his parents name and when he died I informed the undertaker of what I remembered the names of his parents to be. It turns out, I was incorrect as I found out after he died from an uncle in Germany. In fact, I only found this out about seven years ago. Therefore, his death certificate is wrong, what is on the burial records at MtGravatt cemetery is incorrect. Likewise my paternal grandfather gave incorrect information on my great-grandfather's death certificate. He said his parents name was Michael Kapernick and Sophie DIETRICK whereas it is DIETRICH. I have reasonably often found slightly incorrect or significantly incorrect parents information on death certificates. Here is what BluePrint of a Beutel has and what I believe is correct: 1. Christian Friedrich BEUTEL b. 21 Jan 1811 m. Marie Christine EHRENBERG 2. Wilhelm Johann BEUTEL b. 12 Jul 1840 Schmolln, Brandenburg, Prussia d. 13 Jun 1892 Milbong, Qld m. 19 Nov 1865 Grünberg, Brandenburg, Prussia Wilhelmine Friedericke Louise MAAS b. 19 Nov 1843 Frauenhagen, Brandenburg, Prussia d. 2 Dec 1889 Milbong, Qld 3. When I have finished the first Kapernick book and I get to ordering the official records, it may help. Also I will be in Germany in April next year (anyone want to come and make a tour of it) and while my focus will be on the Kapernick family this trip I am hoping I can also look more into the BEUTEL family and meet some of the researchers I have been in contact with over there. If anyone is interested in doing a tour of the Uckermarck next year- I did have contact details for someone planning a reunion the year after- in around about April, please get in touch with me. I would be spending maybe two weeks focusing on the Berlin-Uckermarck area, then two weeks completing a quick tour by very cheap flights and trains that they have there of the other German cities as well as visiting relatives in the south and in Hamburg. Bye for now! Hi Chris, Just to let you know. I play German-Queensland old-time music on my button accordion. One of the many traditional tunes I play comes from the repertoire of Gus Beutel (from the Lockyer Valley). It is called 'Gus Beutel's schottese'). Also have and play a tune from Ravensbourne - called Christy Beutel's Waltz. Many in the Beutel family, and most other old-time pioneers played their home-grown music on the old squeezebox. I have spent 25 years playing, learning and researching the tunes, styles and culture of our many German-Queensland pioneers. Off to National Folk Festival (in Canberra) to play some German-Queensland tunes - to honour our heritage. Best wishes, Mark Schuster (wet and rainy Brisbane) -----Original Message----- From: aus-qld-se-germans-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-qld-se-germans-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Chris Schmidt Sent: Saturday, 16 April 2011 8:04 AM To: 'Charmaine Researcher'; aus-qld-se-germans@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SEQ-Germans] Beutel family and the two Gustavs Hi Charmaine Thanks for pointing that out.
