I am trying to establish if the eldest daughter of Carl August Hahn, Albertina (aged 47 at his death in 1889) is the Emilie Albertine Hahn who married Ernst Friedrich Wilhelm Draheim in 1874. She was born 06/08/1843 in Gross Zacharin, Westpreussen, which is the same area the Hahn family came from, but the church marriage and death records give her parents as August Hahn and Henriette Schulz. She came to Queensland on the 'Friedeburg' in 1873 (some time before the rest of Carl August Hahn's family) and her place of origin was given as Petznick, often featured in records of Carl August's family. In the course of doing this, I have checked the death indexes for the mother of Carl August's children and have somewhat surprisingly found that the name Kahrz (given in the Hahn family history book) is never mentioned (nor unfortunately Schulz) but there are these variations: Johann Edward Hermann Hahn - Carl August & Henriette Kallies Ferdinand Heinrich Hahn - Carl August and Henriette Karliz Gustav Robert - Carl August & Henriette Kales Karl Heinrich - Carl August & Hanna Henriette Kallies This has led me to the conclusion that Kahrz is probably incorrect. I wondered if any of the many descendants of this family interested in family history might have original marriage or death certificates that might help to shed further light on this. Also, perhaps some direct descendants might know if there is a Draheim connection? Lois Cameron.
