    3. Hi The CCC - many of the people involved in the Civil Construction Core are available through the National Archives and on the WW2 site http://naa12.naa.gov.au/Login.htm http://www.ww2roll.gov.au/script/name.asp Now, I have not found them all at either site, but many are listed there. In my case, the records are held at the National Archives in Brisbane as the person was from Esk. Hope this helps you locate them Lorrae J Glenore Grove Qld 4342 http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=helmrich -----Original Message----- From: albert grulke [mailto:agrulke7@bigpond.com] Sent: Monday, 24 January 2011 7:33 AM To: aus-qld-se-germans@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SEQ-Germans] employment records Sometime in the late 1990s some politician in his wisdom or lack of wisdom decided that there should be a medal struck for those people involved in civil construction, conscripted to civilian work and others working in essential services during World war 2. They struck the medal and began issuing it. First of all I imagine that they must have some register somewhere to know who is eligible for this medal. I cannot see how it can be issued just on a person's say so. Second is that I reckon drivers of essential and senior persons would be considered as eligible for the medal. Therefore I reckon there is some register somewhere but no idea where. Wonder would Australian war Museum have it or know where to go.
