Hi List, My wife and I were fortunate enough to have travelled to Germany and the U.K. recently, where we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful country and met some very fine and friendly people. We had two glorious weeks in Germany, mainly staying with friends and a distant cousin I had located during my Family history research. He and his family were living in the same village in Mecklenburg that my Bergman ancestors lived in since circa 1738 and my female Rogmann ancestors had lived in since circa 1530's. I was very lucky to say the least. It was truely wonderful to actually walk around the village of Spornitz and other nearby villages like Karenz, Eldena, St=FCck and Conow, all where my German Bergmann ancestors and families came from. While in Mecklenburg, I was fortunate to meet with Herr Udo Baarck, curator of a Family history museum in the small village of Glaisin, Mecklenburg, who very kindly gave me a copy of a book titled "Letters of a German American Farmer" by Johannes Gillhoff. This book was originally compiled from letters written in the late 1800's back to Glaisin Mecklenburg by German emigrants to the USA, mainly in Iowa. The book I read was translated by a Richard Lorenz August Trost, whom I understand from the foreword in the book has also translated another old low German book into English. This other book is one originally written by the well known German author Fritz Reuter, also a Mecklenburger, titled " Kein H=FCsung." Reuter wrote in the nineteenth century and wrote about his beloved homeland Mecklenburg. I would be very interested to learn if any english language versions of the Reuter book are available. I would be interested in purchasing a copy. Hopefully someone can assist Thanks in advance Noel Bergman Brisbane Australia RESEARCHING: Bergmann,Stumer,Wellbrock,Schroedter,Schroeder,Voje,Koehler,Paul,VichelGottschalk,Zabel, Podlich,Stepke,Erdmann,Dreher,Rogmann,Warncke,Becker,Walpole,Murchison,Nicholson,McGillivray,Robertson, O'Neill,Ryan,Kenny,Hoey,Fulloon,Wittkopp,Drafts,Stewart,McSwain,Raper,de Walpol,Eckersley,Wallace, Baker,Burke,O'Mahoney,Keays,Sadlier,Bridgeman,Fitzpatrick,Harrison,O'Brien,Heeney,Berry,Bateman,Ahearn, Lewis,Norton,Bawn,Mills,Reddie,Sheridan,Quinn,McKenzie,Tracey,Plant,Johnstone,McIntosh,Toshack,Hepburn, Wheatley,Stammers,Lynch,Bell,Pellow,Wasserzieher,Teschner,Neuber,
