The brother of my g grandmother, surname Gegenwart(h), came to Australia with his mother and step-father (to be), all wrongly listed as Lipp, and later married under the name Ward. All this was a long time before the war, so I can only presume he anglicised his name because its pronunciation posed problems here. (After a long time searching, I am grateful to both Les Moreland and Jenny Paterson for their help in proving these name 'changes'.) My only problem now is - what happened to his mother (Margaretha) and her second husband, Georg Liebler? They seem to have disappeared off the face of the earth. Cheers Marionne
