I want to track down records for german settlers, born,and or married, before arriving in Aust.I am not having much luck with latter day saints, and what pointers, if any from the naming of children,may indicate, the state in germany they originated from. eg., family name 'blankenburg' seems to indicate a connection with the Counts of that name? right ,or, wrong? js4815@free2air.com.au Any info could prove helpful.
