Hi Group, Has anyone else been having trouble accessing the search engine on the Qld BD&M Index online? We have been trying since at least Saturday and can use their site so far, but not the actual search for BD&M. Tschuss Noel & Del Bergman

Hi Janet and Gay & Kay, Thank you very much for your help. We were able to confirm that it was the right person by the 1943 and 1954 Electoral Rolls. Both Amelia Martha Maddick and her son Charles Gustav Schimming were living together. Great news. Now we just have to find her death. Once again, Thanks for the help. Regards Noel & Del
I had a little look and found Frederick MADDICK died 31 July 1943, in Brisbane Reg. 1943/B62583. There is no trace of his burial on the Brisbane City Council Cemeteries website..so they may still be buried together somewhere, if a newspaper report can be found for his Death and Funeral. Noel and Dell, Could Mrs Schimming have remarried? What about the Ryerson index or is this too early. She was born on 28 Nov 1879 in Queensland. On 03 Feb 1904 she married Hermann Reinhold SCHIMMING also in Queensland. We have only found they had one child named Charles Gustav SCHIMMING who was born in 1905. But of course there may have been others. We have tracked Gustav in South Brisbane area up to 1959, but she doesn't appear to be buried in Brisbane cemeterys. Gustav appears to have remained single. Hermann Reinhold SCHIMMING died on 29 Apr 1927 and is buried in Marburg Lutheran cemetery. (Thanks to the wonderful Chappel Hill people for this). We have looked for her death and burial records on line and on CD, and have not been able to locate it. We have not found a later marriage for her either. I do realise that she probably lived after 1964 (date death records are released up to), so perhaps some kind soul knows where she is buried. tschuss Noel & Del Bergman 1865 Susanne Godeffroy project. I just did a google search on "Bethania Qld Australia" and in the result, after the URL, there is a cached link. If you click on this you get ggogle's cached version. Not the best solution, but..... I would like to hear from anyone who is researching a passenger who arrived on the 'Ancilla' on 25 Sep 1866. You may not realise that some passengers embarked at an intermediate port. If you have not seen all the Queensland Colonial Secretary's Office in-letters about this voyage, you will want to read them. Kerry stay with the LDS PAF. It is the best and always updated and best of all it is free. I would not use any thing else again Colin
Kerry I joined it the other day to see what it was like and only put myself and my parents in it. Then they suggested that I upgrade and pay for the upgrade. I too am quite happy with my PAF and nowadays do not use it that much.
