Dear Glenva, IN our David McIver book published in 1993 there is listed in the Passenger List PATERSEN, William 31 and PATERSEN Margaret, 24. Perhaps these are the parents of your Thomas Pattesen. Copies of this book can still Can be obtained at the Maryborough Family Heritage Institute PO Box 913 Maryborough. Price $30 posted. My latest book is a reprint of THE POCKET: Its History, Folklore and People. This has been re-edited and gives lots of information on the early pioneers and settlers who purchased land or lived in the Pocket area of Maryborough from the 1850's. Plenty of biographies of people and many German families but no Weimers. Copies of this book can also be obtained at the MFHI and we will be holding a re-launch of the book in March this year. However, I do have some Weimers listed in a Reinke family tree that comes into my family through my Stumer family. However, these are only names of children born in the 1990's. But I am not a member of another list in the right location. I am looking for researchers into Robert Alfred Renforth Wallace born 19/2/1863 (possibly as Alfred Ernst Renforth Strong???) in Workington Cumberland/M/ Eliza Payne. Lived some time in the Burnett; Degilbo, Maryborough. I believe that there was some research published on the Payne family tree by Cora Webb?? I wish to make contact if at all possible, Any help is appreciated Regards Peta

Many prison records (not just the source mentioned above) give the year and ship of arrival (sometimes a coastal vessel from interstate). See, for example, www.judywebster.gil.com.au/stewart.html. Hospital admission registers, too, have provision for 'ship of arrival'. See www.judywebster.gil.com.au/hospital.html. Other sources where I have seen the ship of arrival mentioned include: * Colonial Secretary's Office correspondence * Dunwich Benevolent Asylum records * Justice Department inquest files * Marine birth or death certificates * Mental Asylum records * Naturalisation records * Passport records * Police Gazettes * Obituaries for the immigrant, siblings, spouse, children, grandchildren etc., in newspapers or in publications of professional organisations, clubs, societies etc. Happy searching!
