    1. [SEQ-Germans] Beutel family
    2. Lorrae Johnson
    3. ATTACHMENTS have been removed!! >From Chris Hi Lately, I have had lots of contacts via message boards, ancestry and genes reunited regard the BEUTEL family. There are about eight different groups coming from Brandenburg to Australia between late 1860s and late 1880s. Researchers that I have been in contact with and I think they are all related for a number of reasons. We have made headway tying the different groups and branches together, but more verification and work needs to be done, so I won’t post those details until fully verified. What I post will be what can be verified. I need to mainly focus on the Kapernicks but I have allowed myself until tomorrow night to gather my information together for some of these people. I also apologise for duplicate postings to different lists at once, but due to the fact of needing to get word out quickly it is the easiest for me at the moment. I will do a post on each of the groups. A lot of the BEUTELS in Australia are descended from the above couple. They had at least two children that came to Australia, but most likely three. 1. Johann BEUTEL b. 1784 Schmölln, Prenzlau, Brandenburg, Prussiad. 3 Feb 1869 m. Marie Sophie BUROW b. 1789 Battin, Brandenburg, Prussia 2. Christian Friedrich BEUTEL b. 21 Jan 1811 Battin, Brandenburg, Prussia m. 1837 Marie Christine EHRENBERG b. 1814 Schwaneburg, Prussia d. 23 Nov 1887 Lutwyche, Brisbane, Qld Buried: Bethania, Qld 2. Wilhelm Friedrich BEUTEL b. 1826 Schmölln, Prenzlau, Brandenburg, Prussia d m. 4 Nov 1844 Schmölln, Brandenburg, Prussia Marie Christine MEIER b.1821 It is probably best if I separate these into separate emails where I will deal with the children and grandchildren of each one. I will post these tomorrow. Anyone with BEUTEL connections please get in touch! Regards Chris

    3. Hi Lorrae, If your Kaddatz family were at Blythedale Station in the late 1870's then you may be interested in this article from the "Brisbane Courier" newspaper. It gives a brief description of the property when it was offered for auction in 1881. I searched for references to the property a while ago because my Campbell great great grandparents were part of a family company which worked Blythedale in the early 1880's. Best wishes, Wendy http://newspapers.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/909001?searchTerm=Blythedale Brisbane Courier Thursday 24 November 1881 MONDAY, 19th DECEMBER. BLYTHEDALE STATION, MARANOA DISTRICT, QUEENSLAND. ETTERSHANK, EAGLESTONE, & MANN, In conjunction with Messrs. WM. SLOANE & CO., have received instructions from Messrs T. W. 3. August KADDATZ appears in the "Queensland Government Gazette" 1875 at Blythdale, Roma as having the registered stock brand 'KA7' (Certificate No. 9306). He hadn't had a previous registered brand for either cattle or horses. 3. Lorrae August is on the Electoral Roll for Maranoa at Blythedale 1876 1877 1878 In 1879 he is at North Mackay. It may be also worth checking out School records for the children in the Roma district. Roma Historical Soc I have found to be very helpful in the past. Also try Toowoomba and Darling Downs family History Soc. Blythedale is between Wallumbilla and Roma..about 10 miles from Roma. 3. Thank you for your reply Chris. I am aware of the other MULLER family but not connected. My BERGHOFER line is the NSW branch arrived 1853 per Triton and 1855 per Willhelmsburg. The QLD BERGHOFER's are related quite a way back through sisters Anna Gertrude ALTHAUS and Elizabetha ALTHAUS parents Konrad ALTHAUS and Anna BERGHOFER. 3. The "History of the German Community in the Clarence River District of NSW" by Geoffrey Burkhardt and Nola Mackey, Grafton Family History Centre 1999 (ISBN 0-646-37873-2) mentions Carl and Sussanna BACKES/BACKUS/BACCHUS. 3. Hi Yes, I do but that is a different MULLER family from the one I posted previously. The MULLER family I posted is from Brandenburg area near Berlin, while Wurttemberg is over the other side of the country covering the area that once was Swabia. It broke into two Baden and Wurttemberg (two separate kingdoms with two royal lines), and is now part of the modern day state of Baden-Wurttemberg. Its where my dad's mum's family originated. I don't have any descendants for Johann and I have exactly what you have. I am not related to him, it is my habit to go back on lines that marry into my family. I do have some information on the Berghofer family if you are interested that I can send and post to the list. There seems to be even another family of MULLERS in Toowoomba that come from a different part of Germany yet again- from Hesse- that is the descendants of Johann Heinrich MULLER and Elizabetha IMHOFF.
