    3. Hello Beverly and All Thank you Beverly for warning me of that attachment this morning. Of course, I'm only assuming it was you, because you are the only one who calls me by my full name, although you usually spell it without the 'e'. It was only a newsletter though, so it hit the bin anyway. I am wondering though, how you managed to get "into my mail box" and tack your message on for me? Think I'm too old to try and figure out how these computers work - just as long as my families don't get messed up!!! 3. Just posting my research interests again. I am seeking information on the family of Martin Garske married to Roselia Anklem in Stibbe, Prussia. They had nine children: Annie, Paulina, Roselia, Mary, August, Martin, Johan, Joseph and Albert. August immigrated to Australia about 1874. He married Veronica Quade (Queda). Martin, Joseph and Albert immigrated to Australia in 1882 on the ship, Cheyebassa. Martin married a lady named Pauline. Joseph married Agnes Ciesiolka. Albert married Maria (Mary) Agnes Schwerin. They all appear to have settled in the Toowoomba district ( Cooyar, Helidon, Glencoe) Any information on this family and associated families would be appreciated. Also any information on the location of Stibbe: I am not sure if the spelling is correct. Family tradition always said the family was from West Prussia. Julie Pendell

    1. RE: Deleted emails

    3. Lorrae I have found a good idea is to create a mail folder called 'Save items'. On receiving mail I check it, delete any 'junk' & transfer all other stuff to the 'Save items' folder. This keeps the inbox clear for new mail to be sorted. At my leisure I work through the saved items. I never delete any 'Saved item' & they just mount up (they take up little space on the hard drive). This becomes my archive. This procedure might also save any problems caused by concerned PC owners with nimble fingers. 3. Hi every-one With this virus floating around since Saturday, I have received numerous emails from infected people. I have been taking care that they have been handled by my virus protection, and they are deleted from my computer. My husband checked the emails this morning, (I mean, it is his computer) and we received another load of virus'. Being the extra careful person he is, he quickly hit the "shift delete" which permanently deletes the email - killing that nasty virus before it was opened...even after the anti-virus protection had rendered it useless. Unfortunately, being so quick and not so careful, ;-)), he also 'shift deleted' my folder with all my +120 unanswered/to be actioned emails. Bit of over kill, but he got rid of those nasty virus' !!!! (Sure has infected a lot of people - worth checking our computers and ensuring our anti-virus is uptodate). If anyone has emailed me, and is waiting for a reply, would you please email me again. I will again try to answer them before he gets too finger happy. hehehhe Sorry to ask, but TIA. 1. To All From DIANA BURGESS I have infected many of you

    3. this sneaky little Badtrans virus infected me whilst I was reading all of your woes. Now I am clean BUT as I have a lot of mail marked as unread in my inbox most of you would have received a reply from _me. The steps I have taken to ensure the virus stays away are very simple. The virus is spread faster if you have your mail window pane open so that the message appears immediately.....I have closed mine. I have also changed my options to marking all mail as unread after 5 seconds. This means there will be no unread messages left in my inboxes. I don't understand why my virus checker which had just been updated not 10 minutes before the suspect mail arrived in my inbox didn't pick it up but did when I manually ran the mail program through my virus program. This one sure is tricky. The virus was located in Eudora(my mail program) Embedded\Sorry_ about_ Yesterday.MP3pif-Win32. Badtrans.29020worm. hope I haven't caused any one too many problems. The upside is...I had several advertising emails unread as well.....<G>

    3. Hello all I would like to say sorry to anyone that have had this virus passed on, I have a virus program on my computer, but will be changing it this week as I am not happy how my present one is working. I became infected when I opened an attachment from a person on a family list and I thought it would be ok I don't think I will ever open another attachment. My computer is now clean and working well again Regards Phyllis Zirbel Researching - Horton, Zirbel, Fechner, Tebb, Kitson, Dahms & Busiko

    3. You have no idea how I feel at the moment A scarlet woman But hopefully the viruses on my computer have been cleared up Last Sunday night I received an email with attatchments from Phyllis Zirbel , Subject line re Carr Information Since Phyllis and I had exchanged Carr information in the past I thought good she has sent me more information When I clicked on the email something appeared looked like url ball and folder but it was so quick i'm not sure what it was I clicked a few times hoping I could work it out but gave up I then clicked on the attatchment but it was blank [o bytes] it was either notepad or wordpad I sent an email to Phyllis asking if she had sent me an email telling her it was blank The email I sent was returned to me address unknown I sent another email just to make sure but it was returned also I became a bit worried as our antivirus protection had not been updated for a month or so On Sunday night late I went on line to nortons for a quick check Nortons found no infected files I started receiving heaps of emails saying I had a virus Early Sunday morning I tried online Nortons again still no infected files The moral to this story is always make sure your virus protection is up to date other wise you will end up with huge headaches and abuse as I did Another thing I think the virus was activated when I opened the email and not from the attatchment People always say never open an attatchment but in this case they were wrong So sorry to everyone again because it was not intentional Regards Fay Walker
