    3. Hi Bev, I do not know much on this line as yet, just found them Peter Kubler married Katherina Diedrich, in Germany there daughter Margaretha came to Aussie, Brisbane with her husband and one son, but I have a feeling that she might have had a brother or sister here or came on the boat at the same time, it is interesting that you mention Trost as I have been told we have Trost in the family, but I have not linked them as yet. I need to check all deaths to see if anyone had parents of Peter and Katherina, apart from Margaretha. I am just stuck at the moment as I cannot research as I have a 4 year old and the only days I can check the BDMs I have to work as my boy is at Pre school on those days. My Mum used to have him, but she now wants $50 for the day, same as day care! Somebody told her it costs a arm and a leg to do family tree so she said I can pay her, if I am that rich, needless to say all research has to be done on the computer at the moment. I will keep your email and see if I can find a link. 2. Dear Sue, yes, genealogy does cost an arm and a leg - especially if you hire someone do to it for you (I did that for my Welsh side as I have no clue about how to go about welsh research). However, it does not cost that much in $$$ if people are willing to share info with you. I would be pleased if you kept up your research to find the connection. I think I will ask my cousin, who married the KUBLER to give me more info and perhaps that will help you. There are a number of TROST families in SEQld. Mine is just one of them. But, if you find which TROST name you have, I may be able to tell you if it is mine or whose it is. Have written a book on my TROST family and have quite a large database. Please keep in touch. cheers, Beverly.

    3. I have run this before, but thought I'd give it another go on the pretext that the Wandrahm was mentioned: My g-g-grandmother and family, and my step-g-g-grandfather and family emigrated on the "Wandrahm" which arrived at Moreton Bay on 12 January 1866. I recently posted details of this, and as a result was kindly sent a copy of the health officers' list of deaths on the ship (48 out of 353 1/2 passengers!). Because my g-g-grandmother married my step-g-g-grandfather on 17 April 1866 in Brisbane (second marriage for both), I had always assumed the respective other spouses had died during the voyage (especially as I knew about the death rate before). But now I have the actual list of victims I find no Holz or Punzel in the list of 48. Previously I have not found any deaths recorded in Queensland for any Holz or Punzel in the first half of 1866. Likewise, no trace of the Holz son in later marriage, birth (as potential father) and death records. So, with that background, my question is: what other records can I search to locate the almost certain deaths of these people? For example, I wonder if there are records of deaths in quarantine, or on ships lying in harbour. Any advice would be welcome. The people whose death records I cannot find are: Carl Holz (sometimes Holtz) aged 32 (on departure from Hamburg) Wilhelm Holz aged 4 both of Brüssow, Brandenburg, Prussia Wilhelmine Punzel aged 38 (sometimes Punzell) of Cunow (presumably now Kunow), (Brandenburg?) Margaretha died in 1869 I am waiting for her death certificate, but does anybody have Margaretha Kubler in there tree? Can anyone please check the pioneer index for me for Kubler for Queensland. I'm not sure what info you have, but there is some good coverage of their training and departure in the Queenslander Newspaper/Magazine held at the Qld State Library. The Queenslander of March 3 1900 has photographs of every soldier in the contingent, a nominal roll, stories of their training and photographs of their parade through Brisbane. The March 10, 1900 edition has further stories and photos of their departure from Pinkenbah wharf in the Brisbane River. There is also the book "Official Records of Australian Military Contingents to the War in South Africa" by P.L. Murphy and "Australians at the Boer War" by R.L. Wallace. 3. Dear List, this is not a virius it is a hoax do not act upon it. And, of course, jdbgmgr.exe is a standard windows component that is on every system - it is used in the Microsoft Java runtime engine. So if you delete it java will have problems and eventually you'll have to restore the system file. Some viruses hoaxes are more destructive , asking you to delete things that can't be easily restored and will cause your computer to stop working. the link below gives you a restore option if you have deleted the file http://www.cowleycollege.com/outreach/ssec/comptech/ISSUE26.HTML Kind Regards JUlie Jakeman ----- Original Message ----- From: "Neil Kronk" <nvkronk@ozconnect.net> Date: Thursday, October 31, 2002 8:02 am Subject: Computer virus warning > > To all my family, friends and colleagues - my computer received this > virus message(as copied and pasted below) this morning - sent from > a computer of somone who is on the same mail list as I. The virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system It is sent automatically by messenger and by the address book, whether or not you sent emails to your contacts. Here's how to check for the virus and how to get rid of it. YOU MUST DO THIS 1. Go to Start, Find or Search option 2. In the file/folders option, type the name: jdbgmgr.exe 3. Be sure you search your C: drive and all sub-folders and any other drives you may have. 4. Click "find now" 5. The Virus has a teddy bear icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe DO NOT OPEN IT 6. Go to Edit (on the menu bar), "select the ones with the teddy bear icon" to highlight the files without opening them. 7. Now go to File (on the menu bar) and select delete. It will then go to the Recycle Bin. 8. Go to the Recycle Bin and delete it there as well IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS, YOU MUST CONTACT ALL THE PEOPLE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK, SO THEY CAN ERADICATE IT IN THEIR OWN ADDRESS BOOKS. SORRY ABOUT THIS To do this:- a) Open a new e-mail message b) Click the icon of the address book next to the "TO" c) Highlight every name and Add to "BCC" d) Copy this message....enter subject.....paste to e-mail.....send. After all that though I hope you haven't got it. My Norton anti virus program did not pick it up. Thanks and once again, I'M SORRY. Valerie Kronk.

    3. Hi from me Elaine, Thank you for your offer of scanning my slides for free also. But like Sue's aunt, my slides are VERY precious to me and I don't want to let them out of my sight.... I'll just investigate how to do it on my own scanner.. ThanksGay

    3. Hi Elaine, Thank you for the offer, the photo's are in Sydney and our Aunt does not want to let them out of her sight so I was thinking of taking the computer down there, with the scanner.
