    3. Hi Sylvia, I would be interested in the Schroder family details as My Schroder's came on the La Rochelle in 1864 and they came from Wohrden which is in the same area as Wesselburen, Holstein. Regards, Kerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ms Sylvia Bannah" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, August 24, 2007 9:39 AM Subject: Re: [SEQ-GERMANS] FAMILY RESEARCH INSCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN Hi Uwe I wonder if you can help me. I have ancestors who came to Australia in 1865 on the ship 'Peter Godeffroy'. The family is listed in the Hamburg passenger list as David LOUIS (37 yrs), wife Christine (37) and children Christine (15), Adolph (9), Wilehlm (6) and Bertha (2). The place of residence is given as Wesselburen, Holstein. I can't find the record at the moment but I think wife Christine's maiden name was SCHRODER (with an umlaut) - there was also a family with that name on the same ship (Paul (27), Margaretha and 2 children from Busmer Deichhausen Holstein). The common story in my family (surname LOUIS) was that our ancestry was in Alsace Lorraine, though I have no proof of this. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to get records of the family in Germany and if possible identify if and when the move to Holstein may have occurred. Can you please let me know if you think you can help and what charges etc would be involved.
