    3. Hi List, I am new to the list. I have just started a new research on the following: Phillip Fritz EGGERLING, died 22.10.1964 (Australia) son of Fredrick EGGERLING aged 84. His wife; Minna Maria Alwina, died 22.12.1940 (Australia) daughter of Heindrich SACK & Friedericka HOLSTE, aged 61. Have not been able to find births of Phillip Eggerling or Minna Sack on the IGI and the internet; or their parents marriages. I have had no experience researching in Germany. Phillip, Minna and children came to Australia in the early 1900s. Any assistance would be most welcomed! Regards, Christine Australia Christine

    3. Hi Jennifer, A while since I have heard from you. I have just checked what I had in my email last night (it is a while since I have done any research) and have found that I had a few errors. I had the two Bliesner families mixed up. I rechecked the BDMs and have found that there is no Louise Bliesner on the one that I have. I did do a fair bit with Les Moreland because he was interested in the family as well so am not sure if the info came from him or not. Will check up and see what I can find among all my stuff. For Louise Ostoike the infomation came from the LDS records. Marriage from Catholic records for Schonwiese (Film no 1334789) Births and Marriages 1712-1899. Checking this morning I have found that she had a sister Caroline who was married in Christburg and her records again LDS Christburg Evangelical (Film 208046) BDM 1862-1874. Regards, John. Cheryl, I will get back to you on the list of children for Carl August Bliesner once I have checked what I have. Regards, John. 3. John has said Louise Bliesner is also the daughter of Carl August Bliesner who married Louise Ostoike and she was born Louise Bliesner b. 19 August 1872. m Hermann Albrecht. I have that August & Louise (nee Ostoike) arrived on Reichstag :- The second voyage of the Reichstag sailed from Hamburg on the 17th of April 1872 and arrived at Moreton Bay on the 1st August 1872. Captain : H. Hauschildt Surgeon : Dr. Johansen Free Passengers BLIESNER August 28 Louise 23 So Louise would have been born later in the same month. Perhaps they didn't know to register the birth ??? as I've searched and can find no record of her birth in Q'land. But then Alan has Elizabeth ( Louise Elizabeth) attending school in 1880 with her siblings in later years. 3. Hi Cheryl, Will answer this on list as it should answer all queries that I received. My research has been in West Prussia. I was not too interested in the Australian side as it is not a direct line of mine. My main interest is to find out where my grandfather and his sister went when they arrived in Australia in 1883. My grandfather is listed on the passenger list but then disappears until he marries my grandmother in Tarampa. The only conclusion that I can come up with is that the stayed with the August Bliesner and his family. My grand aunt married Gus Kerle about 18 months after they arrived. This is what is have. I also have photos of all the villages mention and the churches, having visited the area in Poland twice. Godfriedus Blizner married Eva Prelowna (c. 1800-1810) Johann Bliesner Born 05 June 1810 died 06 August 1884 in Gross Teschendorf West Prussia. Married Anna Brause 25 September 1836 in Gross Teschendorf West Prussia. She was the daughter of Martin Brause. She was born 26 February 1815 and died 09 November 1881 in Gross Teschendorf West Prussia. ( I made a mistake in my first email. My g.g.grandmother was Maria Elisabeth Brause). Johann Bliesner's baptism was registered in the Schonwiese Catholic records on 07 June 1810. Children of Johann Bliesner and Anna Brause are: Anna Bliesner b. 06 June 1839 (Gross Teschendorf West Prussia. Johann Bliesner b. 23 December 1841 (Gross Teschendorf West Prussia) d. 13 September 1842 (Gross Teschendorf West Prussia) Carl August Bliesner b. 27 July 1843 (Gross Teschendorf West Prussia) d. 05 April 1922. buried Plainland Luthern Church Queensland. Anna Bliesner b. 06 June 1839. Married Peter Beck. Child of Anna Bliesner. Wilhelmine Bliesner b. 26 May 1864 (Gross Teschendorf West Prussia) She and Anna arrived in Australia on the Roma on 29 June 1882. Wilhelmine Bliesner was baptised on 05 June 1864. (A witness to that baptism was Frau Kaminski who was my great grandmother). Wilhelmine Bliesner married Carl August Weigel 23 April 1888. Carl August Bliesner married Louise Ostoike on 11 November 1871 in the Catholic Church Schonwiese West Prussia. She was the daughter of August Ostoike and Christine Wrobel. She was born on 09 October 1850 in Rothwasser, West Prussia. A witness to the marriage was Johann Josefski (my great grandfather). Children of Carl August Bliesner and Louise Ostoike are. Karl August Bliesner b. 24 April 1881, Marburg, Queensland. Louise Bliesner b. 19 August 1872. m Hermann Albrecht. Adolph bliesner b. 22 March 1873 m Anna Loose. Lina Bliesner b. 10 January 1874 m. Emil Pagel. Wilhelmine Bliesner b. 24 September 1876 m. Carl Loose. Gustav Bliesner b. 30 August 1887 m. May Rossow. Albert bliesner b. 05 Octo9ber 1888 m. Bella Woods. Charlotte Bliesner b. 30 September 1890 m. Clemens Breuer. August Bliesner was a godparent to a number of children on the Josefski side. That is about it. Happy researching. Regards, John Josefski.

    3. I have just started researching Bliesner (Bliesener) ancestors (August and Louisa) who migrated to SE Queensland in 1872 and settled in the Rosewood Scrub area. Would love to hear from anyone who has information about this family. My previous email message had the spelling incorrect. Thank-you to those who responded anyway. Cheryl

    3. Hello John I was very excited to get your message yesterday. I would love to get some information you have collected on the Bliesners. I have already got a little about the two families that emigrated to Qld in 1872. According to the shipping lists (Qld Archives) August Bliesner and Louisa Ostike (and these are the same names that appear on their son's Birth Certificate Adolph -my g-g-grandfather)came out on the Reichstag from Hamburg arriving in Moreton Bay on 17/04/1872 and another Bliesner family - Michael and Christine (Janke) Bliesner and four children including a Carl who arrived in Bowen from Hamburg 01/08/1872. Carl was aged 9 years on the shipping list (so born in about 1861)can't be the Carl you mention. However, all the records that I have about August never include a Christian name of Carl, though your other details about my g-g-grandfather seem right. His son's B. Certificate has him 31 years in 1874. And, of course, the records indicate that Louise Ostike was his wife. This is exciting. I have tried to make contact with people at the Rosewood Scrub Historical Society to see what they might have of this family. Still waiting for a reply. Through the Ipswich Geneaological Society, I came across a book about the Bleisner family - based on the Michael/Christine family that came out in 1872. There was only one mention of our family, that they came out on a different ship, the Reichstag, and took up a selection of land on the Minden Post Office Road. Haven't been able to follow this up yet. No mention is made of how these two families might be related (or not). However, there is some interesting information about Bliesners in Prussia generally - but no clear connections to my lot. My mother's mother was Edith Louisa Bliesner (daughter of August's son, Adolph). My mother has recollections of her grandparents on their farm in Calvert in the Rosewood area. That pretty much sums up what I know so far. I look forward to any information you might be able to share, John. If you wish to contact me off line I have the family of Carl August Bliesner going back three generations. He was born in Gross Teschendorf, Wesat Prussia on July 27, 1843. He married Louise Ostoike (spelling varies) in the Catholic Church in Schonwiese, West Prussia on the 11 November, 1871. The reason I am interested is that Carl August's mother ( I am certain) was the sister of my g-g-grandmother who was Anna Brause. My grandfather (9) and his sister (18) were sent out to Queensland, and again very sure they stayed with the Bliesners. My side of the family called her Aunty Bliesner. I have eight of their children born here in Australia with their birth dates but have not gone any further here in Australia. Would like to hear from you. Regards, John Josefski.
