    2. Joyce M Steinhardt
    3. I have just posted a photo to the SEQ Germans Connection Site in the hope that the folks on it might be identified. I don't know where or when the photo was taken, but the original belonged to Pastor Millatt of Plainland, and was loaned to me by the Pastor's grandson's wife to be copied. I would love to hear from anyone who might recognise any of the people on the photo. Regards Joyce Steinhardt.

    3. Hello Jennifer, Thank you for replying to my request. The connection between the Wruck family is a bit complicated. My Grandfather August Bebendorf married Anna Aichinger in 1915. Anna was a widow then, and had been widowed in Germany to Johann Reinhardt. She had 1 son and 4 daughters, 2 married brothers Wolff, 1 married a Kugel and Clara married Johannes Carl August Wruck in 1915. My Dad had spoke of Ruby and Roy Wruck, but I wasn't sure of the right family. It appears that he was a son of Carl Heinrick Bruno and Justine Wilhelmine Rose. I live in Bundaberg and in the cemetry listing here it has Carl Heinrick Bruno buried 1950. plus a few more. I was so happy to get your reply I haven't looked all through your pages but will do so now. There is another name I saw though that was interesting, that was Auguste Ida Emma Weise. I am researching that family as well. Carl Oskar married Minnie Laura Drews. [my mothers line]. Cheers for now, Carolyn. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jennifer Crockett" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, February 11, 2008 9:07 PM Subject: Re: [SEQ-Germans] WRUCK, REINHARDT, KUGEL and WOLFF >I have WRUCK families but not as far as I know connected to your > Bebendorf family. 3. Lorrae, thanks very much for passing Kath's e-mail on .... Kath, Wilhelm died in Toowoomba, Q in 1919. As far as I know, he wasn't interned during WWI. He was, however, Naturalised in September 1915. It is interesting that his Naturalisation papers note: " ... it has been ascertained that ….. He is well known at Maryland Station, New South Wales, over the border from Stanthorpe, where he lived for 54 years. He bears a good character and is not connected with other Germans. He can produce no documentary evidence as to his age. The Police Officer making the inquiries is of the opinion that he is a fit person to become a naturalized subject.” I find it amusing that it's stated that he was 'not connected with other Germans'. For starters, his sister, Charlotte, was still living and two of his half-sisters, Louisa and Mary, were married to German-born men, Michael and Christie BEZOLD.
