    3. Michelle Thanks for your reply. I think that there may have been problems with the list on the day in that my original reply to you I did not see posted on the list, but you got it so that was good. I only use the reply icon in Outlook for my replies. My source is the great grandson of Heinrich Traugott HAUSLER and Freideriche Augusta LIEBE, who is married to a cousin of my wife. Knowing that the HAUSLER name is not common and I forwarded your email to him. His wife's brother and sister are chasing their family but was not sure if he was interested. He replied that his father can recall visiting the LARSENs on a pineapple farm. He shown no further interest and as a result I cannot provide you with his contact details. A cousin of mine is a descendant of Henry Adolphus HANSEN who married a Emma HANSEN in 1908 but know nothing more. My question to you was a pot luck only and I will pass on your information on to her. I also have PEDERSEN and NIELSEN names in by database which may be of interest to you Regards Bob -----Original Message----- From: Larsen [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, 7 April 2008 2:05 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Hansen family Hi Bob It looks like my attempt at posting a reply on the mailing list has failed. I responded to a highlighted email address which appeared on the email you sent to the list, which had the word ‘bounce’ in it, but it has not turned up or been returned. There are no instructions on how to reply to a mailing list – could you please let me know how you do it? Here is my reply, which I will post again if I can work it out, as someone else may be interested: ‘Thanks very much for the birth date – could I please have the source for my records? I am quite sure there is no connection between Mads Peder Hansen and Henry Adolphus Hansen. Mads Peder “Poppa” Hansen was born in 1878 in Rude Eskildstrup, Munke Bjergby parish, Sorø county, Denmark to parents, Jens Hansen and Ane Marie Madsen. He emigrated to Queensland in 1900 aboard the ‘Ortona’ with his brother, Christian (Christy) Hansen. Both took up selections in Malling. Some of his other siblings went to America and others stayed in Denmark. Children of Mads Peder Hansen and Johanna Lydia Hausler were: Anna Ivy, Otto Henry, Ellen Sophie, Clara Marie, Emmie Lydia, Ruby Christina and Stanley Russell. Christian Hansen married Emily Ernestine Leekefett and as far as I know so far, they only had a daughter, Bertha Marie. There are no christian names ‘Henry’ or ‘Adolphus’ in the Hansen family for generations back in Denmark. If your Henry was a Dane and you need any help tracing his family, I would be happy to help.’ For some reason, the name ‘Henry Adolphus Hansen’ seems very familiar to me – I must come across it from time to time whilst looking up my Hansen family – perhaps I saw his name when I was searching the electoral rolls. Is he the child of Adolf Volmer Hansen and Amanda Geiseman, who are mentioned in previous mail? If so, is this your Adolf Volmer below? 3. Hello all I am asking for any help or information for the Gaedtke - Kampf families, both came from Germany to Qld 1909. Hermann August (B abt 1883) - his wife Emma Anna (B abt 1886) & children Ernst - Johanna & Fritz Gaedtke arrived in Brisbane 26 March on "Asturias. Johann Ernst Arnold (B abt 1860) - his wife Pauline (B abt 1864) & children Paul Otto Erdman (B abt 1896) - Hermann Paul - Pauline Ida & Hermann Fritz Kampf arrived in Brisbane 23 December on "Perthshire". ( Gaedtke listed as Gadtke & Kampf listed as Kampf see Kaniff in the Qld indexes.) The bold is the name they were listed under. Both families settled at Binjour Plateau near Gayndah in Qld. Anna Gaedtke was the daughter of Ernst & Pauline Kampf. & sister to Otto - Paul - Ida & Fritz. Ernst & Pauline were my Gt Grand parents, Otto my Gr father & Anna & August my Gt Aunt & Uncle. ( possibly some children may have died prior to or during the trip to Australia, from both families) On Otto's marriage certificate he has listed - Leimbach, Sachen, Germany as his place of birth. >From family stories the shipping was indirect. And some possibly left from the port of Flussing to travel to England first. Most of the information from when they arrived in Australia has been researched. I would be very happy to learn anything relating to these two families prior to & during their departure from Germany Many thanks from Wayne.

Auguste Czislowski was born in West Prussia in 1868 and migrated with her parents Joseph and Caroline from Gross Teschendorf which is 60 miles SE of Danzig in Poland and travelled to Hamburg and boarded the ship Charles Dickens of 1328 tons and with 512 passengers. With Captain Bochwoldt and Surgeon C Uerhart and Matron Crouchen, they sailed early 1877 and when arriving at Moreton Bay they were quarantined on Peel Is with Measles and 16 deaths of children and 2 adults died in 4 weeks there. 3. Hi Robert I noticed your enquiry re Czislowski. My grandfather's sister Emma SMITH nee KAPERNICK had a daughter Lorna who married a gentleman by the name of CZISLOWSKI. Lorna apparently lived in Helidon with her husband and had ten kids. They separated and presumably divorced with Lorna and the kids moving to Toowoomba. My mum had little to do with a lot of her KAPERNICK cousins particularly once they grew up and unfortunately that is all I know about this lot. My mum can't remember the name of the CZISLOWSKI father. I wonder if there is any connection to your CZISLOWSKI? 3. Hello Robert, What appears to be your Czislowski family were aboard the "Charles Dickens" which left Hamburg for Brisbane in 1877. They were from Gross Teschendorf in Westpreussen (West Prussia). There were: Joseph, 37, Landmann Caroline, 32 Johanne, 12 Auguste, 8 Joseph, 5 Wilhelmine 1 1/2 Also on the "Charles Dickens" immediately following the Czislowski family was a Gurowski couple who were headed for Queensland, also from Gross Teschendorf: Franz, 62, Landmann Caroline, 46 And on the "Reichstag" in the year before (1876) was a Gurowski couple who were headed for Brisbane, also from Gross Teschendorf: August, 26, Arb (short for Arbeiter or labourer) Frau, 22 (no given name recorded). And on the "Friedeburg" in 1873 was another Gurowski who was headed for Queensland from Pachutken which is just a few km south of Gross Teschendorf: Helene, 25, ledig (single) And on the "Lammershagen" departed Hamburg in 1875 for Wellington was a Gorowski family from Stangenberg which is a few km west of Gross Teschendorf: Jos, 32, Landmn Anna, 32 Pauline, 5 Note that although the christian names are German, the surname Czislowski appears Polish. In Polish, Cz is pronounced as we pronounce ch and w is pronounced as a v or an f. Thus the Polish name Gurowski would be pronounced as Gurofski. I'd say that Gorowski and Gurowski would be variations of the same name. I would also think that the Franz Gurowski on the "Charles Dickens" could have been the father of Caroline Czislowski.
