McGRORY FAMILY HISTORY. Seeking contact with descendants of Arthur McGrory and his wife, Elizabeth Anderson, Irish immigrants from Pettigo, in County Fermanagh, who were among Queensland's Pre-Separation Pioneers, settling in Ipswich, west of Brisbane, in 1852, with 7 of their children, together with their Kerrigan son-in-law, and a grandchild. They were later joined by their eldest daughter and her McGoldrick family who had initially immigrated to Victoria. Other daughters married into the Clements, McLean and O'Sullivan families in Queensland. Other family names include Moloney, Cuthbert, Clarey, Heffer(n)an. Hi Listers I am trying to make contact with someone who have a connection with the above names. Mary Ann Hartwell married Victor Joseph Lardner 15/09/1928 at St. Mary's Catholic Church Ipswich, they had two daughters that I know of , Madorma Merl and Pamela Valma . Madorma's married name Curtis (found this information on Mary Ann's death cert). The 1934 Electoral roll shows them living at Thomas St. West Ipswich, and in 1936 Herbert St. Ipswich . Mary Ann was my fathers half sister whom he had never met . Looking forward to any information ,thank you Jan Morrissey

He Wondering if anyone knows where Lewis Thomas lived when he first came to Ipswich? Initially, he worked in the mines at Campbell & Sons', Redbank. I believe I read he worked there for 4 years, before being awarded the contract for the railway tunnel through the Little Liverpool Range. The castle wasn't built until much later. Judy

Jane was born June 1856 in Lyneham, Wiltshire, England Arrived on "Landsborough" in Oct 1873. They had 11 children - 7 married and I know of 1332 direct descendants. The daughters married into the following families - ILES (sometimes reported as EYLES); MORRIS; REID; AMBREY; MALLYON; SMITH; Whilst the sons married - BOLES; FRISCH; REED; ARMSTRONG The grandchildren were born between 1895 and 1932.
