    1. [AUS-QLD-GOLD-COAST] some new cemetery photos
    2. Kerry Raymond via
    3. It's been a while since we have photographed any cemeteries, but we have 3 new albums of headstone photos for your enjoyment: * Theodore Pioneer Cemetery, Corner Watsons Rd and Goolara-Heinekes Rd, not to be confused with the current Theodore Cemetery http://www.chapelhill.homeip.net/FamilyHistory/Photos/Theodore_Pioneer-Qld/ * 487 Plunkett Road, Tamborine, not to be confused with the Catholic cemetery on the same road. http://www.chapelhill.homeip.net/FamilyHistory/Photos/Tamborine-PlunkettRd/ * Bunya cemetery, Bunya Road, Bunya. This one is not exactly new for us but on our visit 10 years ago, the only visible headstone was the one for Thomas Broad. Since then, someone has put up new wooden crosses with names and dates in the cemetery. So we have photographed these for your enjoyment. http://www.chapelhill.homeip.net/FamilyHistory/Photos/Bunya-cemetery-Pine-Ri vers-Shire/ You can either visit these photo collections individually or use our photo caption search on the main page: http://www.chapelhill.homeip.net/FamilyHistory/Photos/ Please let us know of any errors on the transcriptions and we will correct them. Kerry

    3. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can help me with finding a person. His name is Gregory David Simons and I need to contact him on behalf of his daughter who has a medical problem and requires his knowledge. His last known address was at Pottsville, NSW in 1993. Believed to be living on or around the Gold Coast area. Any assistance would be most appreciated. Sandra

    1. [AUS-QLD-GOLD-COAST] Cornish Emigrants - Personal Notices
    2. Rowena Gough
    3. Dear List Folk, I have a strong interest in Cornish genealogy, and have been collecting the Personal Notices, Obituaries, Death and Funeral Notices, and In Memoriam notices of Cornish emigrants. I started with my family group and then kept going, with many hours spent in the State Library of Victoria trawling country newspapers, not yet on Trove. If anyone would like to share the obituaries and death notices of Cornish folk they have researched, I would be very pleased to receive them. The personal notices may also include things like golden wedding celebrations, 90th birthday's etc. These also help me to identify death records, and search for newspaper notices. Please note that I have already been through Trove and collected all items which record that the person was from Cornwall, England. I am looking for Cornish folk who have not been clearly identified as such. What I would like is: The title of the newspaper; The day, month and year published; and The full text as it appears in the newspaper. What do I do with this material? I enter it into a document, one for each state in Australia, one for New Zealand, one for South Africa, one for Canada, etc. When I can, I help other family history researchers. Any contributions that you would like to share will be gratefully received. Also, if you are aware of any country historical groups (or publications) that have collated the deaths notices of their local paper, this would be also of interest to me. Kind regards to all, Rowena

    2. Hi Rowena, Have you ever come across a Roland Coles and his wife Betty? He emigrated to Brisbane in the Late 1960,s with his three children. He would be in his 80's now if still alive. He was always known as Jan Coles when he served with me in the RN. Was living in Wynnam when I last saw him in 1968. 1. [AUS-QLD-GOLD-COAST] Descendants of Johann BEUTEL and Sophie BUROW- BEUTEL from Brandenburg, Prussia to Queensland
    2. Chris Schmidt
    3. Hi Lately, I have had lots of contacts via message boards, ancestry and genes reunited regard the BEUTEL family. There are about eight different groups coming from Brandenburg to Australia between late 1860s and late 1880s. Researchers that I have been in contact with and I think they are all related for a number of reasons. We have made headway tying the different groups and branches together, but more verification and work needs to be done, so I won't post those details until fully verified. What I post will be what can be verified. I need to mainly focus on the Kapernicks but I have allowed myself until tomorrow night to gather my information together for some of these people. I also apologise for duplicate postings to different lists at once, but due to the fact of needing to get word out quickly it is the easiest for me at the moment. I will do a post on each of the groups. A lot of the BEUTELS in Australia are descended from the above couple. They had at least two children that came to Australia, but most likely three. 1. Johann BEUTEL b. 1784 Schmölln, Prenzlau, Brandenburg, Prussiad. 3 Feb 1869 m. Marie Sophie BUROW b. 1789 Battin, Brandenburg, Prussia 2. Christian Friedrich BEUTEL b. 21 Jan 1811 Battin, Brandenburg, Prussia m. 1837 Marie Christine EHRENBERG b. 1814 Schwaneburg, Prussia d. 23 Nov 1887 Lutwyche, Brisbane, Qld Buried: Bethania, Qld 2. Wilhelm Friedrich BEUTEL b. 1826 Schmölln, Prenzlau, Brandenburg, Prussia d m. 4 Nov 1844 Schmölln, Brandenburg, Prussia Marie Christine MEIER b.1821 It is probably best if I separate these into separate emails where I will deal with the children and grandchildren of each one. I will post these tomorrow. Anyone with BEUTEL connections please get in touch! Regards Chris

    1. Re: [AUS-QLD-GOLD-COAST] RE- THE WELCH FAMILY
    2. Kay Clarke
    3. Hi Sharon Sorry for not replying before this - have been very ill and am still trying to catch up with emails. Have had a quick check of what I have on my WELCH family - This is what I have: Mary Elizabeth WELCH born 11 Mar. 1875, Bushey, HERTS. (My grandmother) George WELCH born c. 1850, HERTS (My gg-father) James WELCH b. 1819, Watford, HERTS (my ggg-father) Robert WELCH b.c1790s (gggg-father) At this stage, I haven't gone into siblings of this Line. As you can see, they were from the Herts. area. Interesting, the names repeat themselves down the line to this generation and in your line, the names of James and Stanley appear (Stan was the name of my half-brother). Will have to look into this further and see if there's more information out there to gather. Does any of the above help you? Whereabouts in the world are you? I asked this question once before on another List and found a cousin living within 100 klms of me - and we didn't know about each other. 3. Hi Kay, Sorry for not getting back to you before this, but have been so very busy. The Eric I am looking for was born to James and Margaret Welch about 1906, in Brentford, Middlesex, England, he was the eldest of five boys. His full name was Eric James Welch. I am not sure just when he went imigrated to either Australia or could have been New Zealand. He had siblings Frederick, Edward, Sidney and Stanley. Do you have any pictures of the Eric you have as I believe I have one that another relative gave to me and if you do we could see if they are the same ones. At this time this is all that I have on him. If you think this could be the one you have please would you get back to me. I am doing this for my cousin in Ontario as she does not have a computor. She is the daughter of the third born Edward Josiah Welch. Wait to hear from you.
