Looking for descendants of UHLMANN, Johann Louis/Ludwig 'Louis' & Rosine Wilhelmine nee WEISS. Louis was born c. 1821 Württemberg. He arriv. per "Solon" Moreton Bay May 1859 and married Rosine soon after. This couple appears to have remained in the Brisbane area. (I have copies of papers relating to his Application for Naturalization from Qld State Archives, as well as Louis & Rosine's Marriage Certificate, etc. which I am happy to pass on.) Louis & Rosine had the following children (all born Brisbane, Q): 1. Eliza b. 29.03.1860 2. Frederick b. 30.03.1862 3. Unnamed male b. 24.03.1864 d. Brisbane bet. 1864 - 1873 4. George Henry b. 26.02.1865 d. Brisbane bet. 1865 - 1873 5. Amelia b. 02.06.1867 6. John Louis b. 24.09.1869 d. Brisbane bet. 1869 - 1873 7. Ludwig Carl b. 26.12.1870 8. Carl Thomas b. 04.01.1873 9. Augustus Jacob b. 31.12.1875 Am not descended from or related to this line, but am interested in the "Solon" connection. Particularly would like to know if Rosine also arrived per "Solon". Have a lot of information re. this vessel, her 1858/59 voyage to Australia and subsequent loss off Shoalhaven, NSW 1860 that I am willing to share.
