Hi, I have just joined the list and am wondering if anyone may be able to help me. I am trying to find information on my Great Grandmother Mary Brennan who was born in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland around 1852. I have no idea when she came to Australia but she gave birth to her son, Francis (Frank) Leopold Brennan on 26 June 1884. He was registered as Brennan but he is also registered as Francis Leopold May. On his birth certificate, his mother is mentioned as being Brennan then May. The birth certificate lists him as "illegitimate". Seems as though Mary changed her surname to the surname of the father of her child. My Grandfather was the first born as there is no mention of other siblings either alive or decease. There are no records of her marrying in Queensland and I cannot find any death records for her either. Mary is shown as living at Bulimba on my Grandfather's birth certificate. If anyone has any links to them I would like to share information. Thank you, Alan
