Hi Alan Here are some births and deaths for you to consider - only the Mothers are recorded and they are all Mary BRENNAN Mary Ruddy BRENNAN born 20.03.1876 Fanny BRENNAN born 06.12.1877 died 15.12.1877 Margaret BRENNAN born 16.03.1879 Charles Stanley BRENNAN born 30.05.1880 died 12.06.1880 Frank Leopold BRENNAN born 26.06.1884 Charles BRENNAN born 13.06.1888 - and then there is this one which makes one think twice, though I doubt these are yours. It's just an example of registration variants -- William Prospere BRENNAN died 14.07.1880 Father Thomas BRENNAN Mother Mary Scott BRENNAN. Looking at other entries, I found that this little bloke was Wellmanda Prospare Patrick BRENNAN born 16.03.1877 to Thomas BRENNAN and Mary SCOTT. And so it goes on - wierd names for her SCOTT DOUYERE, SCOTT DENYERE, plain old SCOTT, SCOTT DWYERE, SCOTT BRENNAN, and for six births plus two deaths that's not bad!! But for their marriage she is registered as DONYERE, Mary Scott. I can't find anything linking the name of MAY Alan, other than the original duplication of registration. I did notice that the Registration number is the same and therefore think there was a problem with the transcription. I also think the first six are all the one family, so your Grandfather has some siblings there. Maybe your library will have more detail on microfiche? Another thought - maybe Mary was married to a BRENNAN who died and Frank could have been born after the Father's death. Maybe Mary remarried to a Mr MAY??? Lots of maybes for you!
