Hi - I sent this email from my home address recently, however realised that I was subscribed from my work address. Please confirm the below email is ok to post? Many thanks Tanya ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------ Hi All I'm looking for some information on William and Jessie Melton if anyone can help me please? They arrived in Brisbane in 1853 on the Agricola with their children. The family settled in South Brisbane somewhere and I would be intrigued to find out how (and where)they lived after arrival, and what occupation William had as he was a blacksmith in England. Having read some text from Charles Melton (their son), it's possible that they lived somewhere near the present PA Hospital site. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Hi, Jessie Melton is on the 1905 and 1913 electoral rolls at 104 Toohey Avenue, Kangaroo Point occupation Domestic Duties. She seems to be alone in the house. There is a Charles (occupation sub editor) and his wife Annie May Melton living at Kyabra Street, Fortitude Valley in 1913, 1919 and 1925. There are another couple of Charles Meltons listed so it may not be the right one. Unfortunately William was deceased by the time the electoral rolls came out. William may be listed in earlier directories held at the State Library Qld but I am not aware of any online. Carol
