Hi Folks, This extraordinary couple were the reason for the Hardgrave line in Australia. William Hargrave was born ca. 1792 in County Cork, Ireland. He married Elizabeth Smith in 1818 or 1819 and they had at least eight children, seven of whom migrated with them to Australia. One of their sons, John Hardgrave was the Mayor of Brisbane in 1869. John and his brothers and sisters made an enormous contribution to the pioneering of Queensland. Descendants are warmly invited to the first ever Family Reunion of this remarkable family on Sunday, 19th October, 2008.
