I am trying to establish whether the above-mentioned John Brown was my Great Grandfather... 'My' John Brown was once a butcher at Grafton , New South Wales , Australia. He seemingly left Grafton , some time after 1881 Perhaps he turned up in Queensland , and resumed his former trade as a butcher.. A reference to a John Brown , butcher , George Street , Brisbane , appeared in The Brisbane Courier , 19 June 1889.
