Hi Anne, I think you will find the Brisbane Waters area is around Gosford/Woy Woy in NSW. Merton covers the district of Maitland and Denman is a small town in the Hunter Valley near Maitland. I have not heard of a Brisbane Waters area in Brisbane, Qld. but then I am from NSW originally!!! Carol

Hi Carol Yes, I do realise where Brisbane Waters is located. I sent the post to this list too as it looks as though this H.H. BEAN character was also in Moreton Bay around 1846. He may have just been passing through, or he may have had business interests up that way as it appears that he was an entrepreneurial type. Worth asking as you never know . . . .
